After calling accurate and United composites, I brought the following rigs on a six day to Guadalupe.

Bv400 uc 8’ mega 20-30
Bv2500 uc 8’ monster 30-40
Bv2600 uc 8’ tilefish 50,60
Bv2800 with uc 7’6 centaur 80-100

Pretty much used the 800 with the centaur with a 80# leader 99 percent of the time. Landed 6 yft 80-100 and handed off two more. Was very happy with that setups performance.

Thanks for the info this is what I’ve been trying to find. Talked to a guy who was all about the Accurate ATD’s and i was like yeah that’s too rich for my blood.

First off welcome to the addiction... Lol

I have to say I'm a uc (especially gp's) and accurate fanatic! If you are fishing tuna you don't want to a #20 rod you want a 25-30 rod with 20lb leader. I would suggest 5 setups to start with (I am up to 8 on this length of trips)
    1) gp80 mega #20-30 tern 400 or bv-300
    2) gp9e jigstick #40 tern 500
    3) gp90 monster #40-50 bv2-500
    4) gp80 terminator #60 bv2-600n
    5) cx 76 viper #100 mak 20

    For a 6th I would add
    Cx 76 centaur bv-800
    7th
    Gp 10e tern 600n

    Good luck!

No problem, was in your shoes at this time last year. The one thing that is real nice about the valliant line is that they are real light as well. I’m sure the atds are real nice as well, but that is some real serious coin. If I was gonna add a 5th setup I’m going to get a visx 20 and a viper and then I’m set for quite a bit.

These set ups sound like the right idea. The BV2-800 on a rail rod is also a solid reel for those 150 to 200# Bluefin. The BV2-800N is also a good jigging rig for that night bite. We had alot of success with these reels this past season.
