Since I don't hunt I use the winter as an opportunity to get boat projects done. Running out of stuff to do so I decided to upgrade the transducer from the existing 2kw R199 LH transducer to a new 3kw R599 LM. I feel it will be a perfect compliment to the highly regarded B175HW already on the boat. In the process of removing the R199 now so for your glass guys that run a traditional 50/20 set up and want to mark bottom in 4k feet keep an eye out in the classifieds. Have been very happy with the current unit.

It is shaping up to be a long winter.

Yes Non Diplexed. I had it running to a DFF3.

The pics above are of old unit I am in the process of removing as time allows. Obviously not in a big rush with no winter time fishing.

Working at getting the boat cometely dialed and updated as I hope to venture further from home possibly next summer. Got the new box shaped and set with 5200 and now giving it a few days to cure before going further with install.

Our boy G Spot picked up the old R199 and I hope it gives him years of great performance on his next project. Just finished up the R599 LM install and it is a perfect compliment to the B175HW.

Been milking the project given our lack of fishing options and being a COVID winter and all. Been a fun project and very happy with the results. Took the boat out after market close today and did some testing. Had a 28khz Low frequency running with 88khz Medium as well as the HW chirping 150 to 250khz with zero interference. Deepest water I had time to run in was 625ft so not a great test. Looking forward to this coming summer already and it is only early December. Might have to try this squid thing.

*The holes you see from bilge pump relocation are on a fiberglass pad which I filled with plexus and that appears as clear in the pics.

Looks really good. We put a R509LHW in our Cabo and I'm super happy with the shallow performance. Haven't had time to play in deep water yet.

I'm building a new Seavee this year and it's going to get the 599LHW. This should provide the stellar High freq we have in the 275LHW and give me Swordfish frying 3kw narrow beam.

I'm super fired up to actually TARGET swords down here and not drift and pray. Keep us posted on how it works ouf for you.

CW quality Aluminum that has been formed to desired shape for perfect fit with 1/4 studs tapped from back side for through bolting. Then wrapped by @reelhooker with 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber.

On the shoot through talk to Airmar on performance of HW as they indicated to me that the wide cone angle shooting through the hull would possibly impact performance to a large degree. For that reason I went with the wet face B175HW.

A pocket mount would alleviate that issue if your going traditional and not a Z hull. Sounds like a bad azz rig either way.
