The new surf rods will have one of the thinnest diameters, if not the thinnest.
We plan to introduce them next year. We are testing the rods extensively now.
We call them as Black Hole Striped Bass Special surf rod
Here is rod weights of prototype 10'6" Black Hole Striped Bass Special surf rods.
    3.4 oz - 4 oz rod: 287g (10.20 oz)
    2 oz - 6 oz rod: 308g (10.95 oz)
    3 oz - 10 oz rod: 330g ( 11.73 oz)

    Nice. They look great

Would also be nice for rooster fish, corVina, jack crevalle & black ocean snook from the beach

We try to test the light 10'6" Black Hole Striper Bass Special rated 3/4 oz - 4 oz for rooster. We couldn't catch any rooster, but jack cooperated out of South of PV last week.

Thanks for the vid. All you want crevalle here like pv. Bendy loading for casting with shut down for heavy pulling strokes. I like. As you know. A jack crevalle fights similar to a rooster in the same class. So you got the results from crevalle weight for small gallos :) gallos get allot bigger and your going to get a beast :D

There are juvenile roosters within 200 feet of me. Right now. They are so cool and burly

Here is another video of fighting a nice drum using the light 10'6" Black Hole Striped Bass Special surf rod rated 3/4 oz - 4 oz. in Florida.

Great looking action. My next trip to southern california. I hope I can find the light 10'6" black hole to check out

My shimano Tiralego 90M is a great rod. My first rod I ever received without checking it out first and pulling on the rod. It's one class too heavy for the jig weight that I fire from the beach. I need a long beach rod to load up more with the snook jigs. The black hole light 10'6" looks like a possible solution. Or THE solution

On a skiff or from my jet ski. The Tirelago 90m is a great rod. But from the beach for the size of beach jigs I fish. The rod is a TAD too heavy

You should check our 9'6" and 10' Black Hole Suzuki surf rods.if you target snook or smaller fish from the surf.

    :D

Thanks Kil. I will be sure to check out the other models for sure. The ocean black snook are up to 45lbs+ with roosters in the XL size. Every year we get some very large fish from shore. Cuberas also are at the rivermouth as its a cobble stone bottom. CorVina get hefty also

The 9'6" or 10" could be a better match though. BUT I have always wanted a rod longer then 10' :D Been interested in the black hole rods since you started reporting. Been watching

    45 lb snook ? Wow.
For snook or rooster, I can use light surf rods as they fight in open water.
But cubera snapper is different story. They go into structure as soon as they are hooked. I plan to use 80 lb braid for main line for big cubera snapper on our trip to Mexico in April 2019.

Are those weights for a built rod or just the blanks? What are the butt and tip dia? And are the blanks available for sale?

    Any info would be great.

    Thanks Chris

When will these 10’6 models be available. As of right now it seems they are only available in 9’2 and 9’6 lengths.

I'll pass along an observation that is 35 years old out of several dusty old books.

"Graphite rods either bend all the way around into a circle.... or they don't bend."

Totally circular dude. The pictures with the rod casting, bent all the way round in a semi-circular blur are totally cool.

Keep up the good product development and trips needed for that :)

Busy time of the year for me. It's summer here. Will check out what I can. Next visit

World record ocean snook and rooster has been taken 25 miles north of me. Taken some heavys. Real deal underground or the commercials will mop up more then they already do.

What would be a good estimate of deadlift? We have to lift our fish up the rocks and would be interested to know what the 2-8oz 10ft can lift?
    Thanks!
