I know, I know....not a cool build thread, but I'm stoked anyway. Finally have a real West Coast style bait tank on the boat after 2 seasons using the crappy system that was on it. Plenty of fish killed before, but now we have serious capacity.

48 gallon Bluewater Bait Systems leaning post tank. Fits great and can't wait to use it!

Converted front 18 gallon tank to an ice chest and the back livewell we can still use as a livewell or a bleed out box like so. :D Most of the time we try to keep the blood off the deck.

That's good stuff! Yeah, I've always hated trying to balance the usefulness of a bay boat with the need for a larger bait tank when going offshore.

Exactly, hard to beat the platform of the bay boat on the right days, but the East Coast style tanks barely work for our bait out here, we just decided to go for it!

Thanks Ali! Yeah, absolutely huge for us. I left the pumps in place so we can run all the tanks if needed, probably sink the boat but that would give us almost 90 gallons of capacity total. I figure that gets us within a few hundred scoops of the San Diego. LOL

Yup, he's the best. Couple of tweaks to the tank when I ordered it and it fits like a glove.

Thanks Mark!! Super happy with it. It's HUGE and had almost zero affect on the boat. Marked the waterline and when full it maybe squatted a 1/4".....maybe. Filled in 7.5 minutes, perfect!

I bought it from Randy Wood who owns Bluewater Bait Systems, makes killer tanks that work right for our bait on the West Coast.
