They posted a side plate pic but not much else
Not to beat a dead tuna, but any more news on the release of the Avet Star Drag? And will there be a level wind option??
At this point they might as well save it for FHS and try to start the hype over.
Jeeez,, take a deep breath. If you need a star drag reel that bad go out and buy a cheap one. By the time the Avet is available the old reel will be shot.
I like that advice, I WANT an Avet star drag but I can't seem to break my $90 Okuma Cortez 10 lol
Now that is funny.
I called Avet, said they are going to be available in early 2019, the nice lady on the phone said January or February...
Thanks for the update
January-February = Mid 2019 at earliest.
Yea, we'll see when they really come out. Nice to hear that they should be out at least in the next 6 months. Hopefully in the next couple months we'll get some more info on specs, msrp, etc. I'm curious to see how many models they make. It would be amazing if they have a few different sizes and drag powers, RH and LH, and starting msrps around the $200-250 mark.
I for one know that if they have a model with the size of an sx or mx and 20ish pounds of drag in left hand retrieve, I will buy as soon as I can
Wonder if will have a thumb bar?
A symmetrical thumb bar would be nice.
Any more news about this star drag reel?
No more photo releases, specs, etc...?
What kind of feature is that?
One to put you at ease knowing nothing new will be happening soon. Seems like Avet and Okuma follow a similar release trajectory. See it with a lot of manufacturers who let the marketing department take the lead in establishing delivery dates.
It will get here just not on any timeline know to man or beast.
It's an asian clicker.
Not likely in a US made reel. Could be a Louisiana sourced item though. Every convenience store had a cricket cage for bait crickets when I lived there in the 80's. Could feed them corn meal through the drain ports on the Avets.
