They did post a response I saw on an Instagram feed that say they expect to start delivering within 3 months after a bunch of vendors starting inquiring.

    Standing by to stand by..

Oh, I had no illusions that you would buy one. I was thinking that Avet might send a couple out with us on their sponsored trip.

Hey Harry & Sarkis!!!!!! Forget about "YOUR SPONSORED TRIP"(like the Trump touch?)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
How about this: Give or let me buy one to take on my Shimano 10 day on the Royal Polaris in early October. 30 potential customers including the Rep.
I'd make him catch a tuna on it!
Now that would be a marketing coup d'état!

I’m on that trip and I wouldn’t mind bringing my own if it’s out.

Yea! See you there. Bringing my son.
There may be a "fly in the ointment". And perhaps only Avet could do this.
The TEE PEE, Powerhouse, and ReelDeal transmissions where used to increase the gear ratio of 3 to 1 geared PENN reels in the 50's, 60's and 70's. The later two comprised the majority of the products used. For the most part they were strapped on the 259 Long Beach, even on a 113 Senator(2 to 1). There were quite a few put on a Squider 140. Some guys preferred them as they were easier to use with lighter lines like 25-30# Meslon and the smaller diameter spool was easier to cast. The wide 140 was able to hold enough line and still have a faster retrieve.
That being said, I've heard the new star drag and it has a level wind option and may have a small spool diameter than an LX or JX-2.4".
I remember something my Junior Varsity football coach said that applies but I really can't write down...........

Literally no one is being lost. And there is nothing wrong with the owners of the company not releasing final info until it’s actually final info.

Within a year or two of Avet and Accurate Star Drags in the mainstream market, I would think Penn would either reduce their Torque Star Drag price, or discontinue the item. $450++ is a lot for any star drag.

Yeah the RP crew is totally gonna be complicit in letting some random guy with delusions of grandeur try to derail a marketing event by the largest company in the industry.
1.) you aren’t important enough to warrant being given a prototype or dealer sample from Avet or any other manufacturer.
2.) the Shimano rep would probably laugh in your face and the other anglers on board would rather get the free stuff from Shimano than join some janky attempt to piss off Shimano.

A company like Avet would not produce a prototype without a good idea of the price point and the specs. So they should be able to post the info. No manufacturing company just builds a product without knowing its details, none. They know the specs and have a good idea of the price point or they wouldn't bother with a prototype.

It’s almost as if there could be a marketing mechanism you aren’t aware of that’s causing you to be confounded.

I'm not confounded, I understand marketing/manufacturing very well. I'm just saying they (Avet) know and can publish the info on the reel. In light of the competition coming out with actual info before Avet means they do not understand marketing in a competitive environment or there is a problem with the reel and they are still fine tuning the manufacturing specs (i.e. The Okuma High Speed Andros 12II).

Do you actually believe Avet does not understand marketing in a competitive environment?

Yes, I often believe they do not. They have been a target of the competition for years, but are slow to respond to the market. What would you rather catch a cow with, a MAK20 or an Avet 30SDII? MAK20 is the hands down winner. Avet doesn't even manufacture a plug for the harness if you do not want to use it on the 30 or larger reels.
If I follow your line of thought, it means there is a manufacturing problem so they (Avet) is not publishing the specs or the reel is not competitive with the new competition.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Raptor's, but Avet can do better than they do with customer service and product refinement in the face of targeted competition.

I read somewhere that the Avet Star Drag will have a level wind option. Any insight into this? Is it true??

    Hopefully a thumbar too!
Slightly smaller diameter spool than SX.
Wonder if when you turn the handle it goes back into gear.
Going to be able to crank a Lac Seul Turbo all day long!

Well they haven't actually made one yet so anything is possible. :D

Joking aside, they did post a pic of the side plate. Maybe we'll see an actual reel pretty soon.

Not looking like they will have these reels out in the 3 month window.
