Well, after many years of getting my back pounded on my boat on those rough days, I finally got some seat suspension. I've been looking for a long time and finally found something that looks like it will suit my needs. Most of the stuff out there was too bulky for my application. This actually just replaces my existing seat posts and all the holes lined up perfectly. It's basically a seat post with suspension inside. Now, I'm sure there is a lot more involved, but that is the basic design. The company is called Seaspension. I own a Parker 2310 and although she rides great, she can jar your back bone on any given day. I figured this will save me alot of pain, and alot of chiropractor money in the long run! Here's some pics of the install. The install was so simple on my Parker that it took me about an hour start to finish. For both seats! A plug and play install. I'm taking it out today for a test spin and will post my final thoughts.

Looks like you lost the foot rest.... diaminter looks the same ?
They make a new rubber sleeve for the existing footrest to go back on. I'm getting that delivered next week and my old footrest will be back on. The diameter is thicker than a stock seat post so the existing footrest rubber sleeve is too thick.

Well............................Did I like the new suspension seat? NO!
I Love it! This is the second best add-on I've done to my boat in 7 years. Aside from my GPS, this is definitely my favorite thing on my boat now! It made me realize that my boat was one of the main reasons my back was aching all the time. I have a sciatic nerve that gets pinched almost every time I go on my boat. I always thought I just had a bad back and thats why it hurt after a boat ride. It's those rigid seat posts. I went 2 days in a row and I feel great for the first time ever. This seat system takes the jolt out of the ride. I watched my passenger seat for two rides with 2 different friends on it. One buddy was 180 Lbs and the other around 220 Lbs. The seat goes up and down with the waves. I couldn't notice if mine was working so I had to ask my friend if it was working. It was! If you have any back problems or just don't feel like getting beat up after a long day on the water, GET THIS SYSTEM! Even if this particular system doesn't work for your application on your boat, find one that does. I will never own another boat without Seaspension! They did a great job on this product. Both of my passengers couldn't believe the smooth ride. Boat manufacturers need these on their boats because it makes the boating experience so much better! I can't wait to go off shore. Great Product!

Awesome to hear. I always wondered how those smaller systems work.

Congrats.

The price is $595 per seat. It's worth every bit of that and more. I'm gonna try to video the seat post with my Iphone next time because I was amazed at how often the system is working. Those constant movements up and down are now saving my back from getting that hit every time. Whether it be the constant small hits or those unexpected teeth jarring ones. Like I said, great product!

Well Chris, I gotta say, I also did Auto Pilot after my GPS. I still stand by these seat posts as being the second best add on. Second Only, because my GPS has all my favorite fishing spots on it.:) And it got me home one day in very thick fog. Otherwise, they would be the best add on to my Parker. I can't wait till I have that 12 hour boat ride chasing yellows on the paddys, and coming home feeling a lot better than I used to. These seat posts make my boat feel like a 33' instead of a 23'.

Have you ever bottomed out ?

No. I weigh 185 but I have had around 230 worth of fisherman on the passenger seat and never bottomed out on a ROUGH day from San Clemente Island to Oceanside. The are super smooth and you don't bob up and down. The boat seems to move underneath you. It's hard to explain but I can tell they were well thought out. Hope that helps.

I have spoken to the owners of these posts and they seem pretty cool. I would need the inverted posts model and some helm redesign to get them to fit. I would like to add this project to the list, but maybe next year.

Did you ever get the foot rest to work out? Where do you get the new rubber sleeve?
