That’s a lot of half hitches! Looks good tho. That’s not going anywhere! I’ve been doing 2 half hitches then pulling super tight to lock it in then a rizuto finish to hide the tag and cover mono. Seems to work well

Did you cut the mono tag first or half hitches over the mono tag?

Now that it's the dead of winter and demand is low, it's time to buy your Bluefin jigs and assist hooks if you don't have your bases covered. If you wait till the big boys show up, ( hopefully) you'll be lucky to find what you're looking for. Good to have at least one 500 gr. glow FF style jig incase they're deep and the current is rippin'. Owner Monster Stinger hooks are really good if you don't make your own.

There's a lot of good threads on this so do your research if you haven't already. For your deep n heavy rig be sure to get white or yellow braid do you can mark your line at different depths so you know where you are. Drink a lot of coffee and don't sleep much at night if you're targeting Bluefin.

Haven’t tried burning it. I’d be scarred to burn my braid. You use a torch lighter?

I use a zippo and have it lit for alittle time to get the metal around the flame hot and then press the leader against it. What i make sure what to do is saturate the braid with spit. Ive also seen some like metal heating element that is doing the same thing.
