Should be a fun little shooter! $425 @ a local gunshop, not so bad for CA.
great weapon my father carried one in Korea. You will have fun.
My buddy has one of those and I really enjoyed shooting it. That's the model that shoots the unique .30 cal. carbine ammo, correct?
Yeah, exactly. I can't wait to shoot it. its almost like a lesser .357 mag round.
here, I took a pic comparing it to the 30'06(and some other big boys)... huge difference.
Looks awesome! Have fun shooting that bad boy!!!
Nice snag. I don't think I've seen a milsurp around here for <$500.
i grew up shooting that weapon in the desert at coyotes and jack rabbits. great weapon, and great deal!!!
I have one... They are cool....
and the banana clip.....
Hey there, interesting that you could pick one up in Panama, especially what I believe to be a commercially produced model. I think we lend leased carbines to a lot of central/south american countries so I would think it should be USGI.
Here is a list of USGI producers according to this website: http://bavarianm1carbines.com/manufacturers.html
The stock on mine I am told is a post war "pot belly" type. Since it is not original to the manufacturer I think I will end up refinishing it to make it look nice.
There's a lot more manufacturers than that... I have one from Universal , from Hialeah , Fla
Also my oldest brother used to manufacture them in Union NJ
under the trade name MOCO (Millville Ordinance Corporation )
Any chance you baught it at Turners in Rancho Cucamonga? Somebody was next to me and my wife looking at a M1 on consignment there sunday.
Cool rifle, should make one hell of a bang!
Gotta love an M1 carbine. That is a very good deal for CA prices. You would have a hard time finding a nice Winchester M1 in Texas for that price.
