The GARDEN ISLAND TROLLERS fishing club is starting back up. Originally founded in 1964 the club was out of action for the last few years. Now because of new concerns about fishing rights the club is reactivating.

It should be a great club, they will be holding tournaments and representing fishermen at NOAA and National Fisheries meetings. I am just helping get the word out but a lot of the original members are setting it up.

Howzit Pepe Yeah This is a Good Start! Kauai Fisherman need all the support from all the fisherman so we can continue Fishing with our children and grand children and they can do the same! These treehugger know-it-alls think its a better interest to make our fishing grounds Whale Sanctuaries for Joe Blow and his family from Timbucktoo!!!!
This will get us together and give of a strong say in this matter! Right On Bradda! :lux: We need a contact? Aloha

The next meeting date has been changed from the 16th to the 15th.

The Garden Island Trollers club meeting will be held Tuesday February 15th at the Kapaa neighborhood center at 6:00 pm.

They have more XXL T-shirts for those who missed out last time and there will be a presentation on the importance of reading the current. As always new members are welcome.

It was a great meeting. It started with some by laws stuff then they elected the president and executive committee. One of the guys brought up some fisheries issues to watch out for like a bill trying to ban all blue marlin sale. Then they did a really in depth presentation on tides and currents. the presentation started out with the basics then went on to cover some high tech stuff Ive never heard of.

I will let you know when they schedule the next meeting.
