They all look great. Personally, I'm really looking to get my hands on the 40N and 60N with the 50 inch retrieve.

Apologies if this has been asked before or is obvious. Is Penn discontinuing production of the older fathom nld2s?

From what I gathered here the old 2 speeds are discontinued. The star drag reels in black do not change only the two speeds. Someone correct me if I misunderstood.

Correct, the old black Fathom lever drags are discontinued, and the new Gen2 lever drags will be the silver color.
All the other Fathom Gen2's [star drag, level-wind, and line-counter] will remain black.

Okay, thoughts on the 60N for heavy duty 80lb work? I don’t know if I’d fish 100lb heavy but heavy 80lb seems right. Btw awesome size reel.
