Is the 12 about the same size as the fathom 30? Is there a 40N size in this line?

Well I have just looked again at the videos and Okuma website again and it says machined frame and side plate so it looks like I was mistaken about the more pressing on the right hand side plate.

Meh. Other than the Makaira series, I'm not impressed with ANYTHING from Okuma. If it wasn't for Tiburon Engineering, they would still be making crappy reels.

I fished the metaloid 5 and 12 last couple of years. Big fan of them. Aside for the drag cam upgrade, 0 issues. Got the cavallas for this year, can't wait to use them.

5N is Penn 15?
12N is Penn 25N?

Here is a pic of my Andros 5NIIA and Fathom 12 SD. The 5NIIA is taller and narrower. The Penn 15 is a wider Penn 12. Hope this helps

The 12 would be about a 30 fathom I think it even maybe a 40. The 5 is probably about the 25

FYI, I love these reels, have 6 of them, and west marine has a custom blue version that is a few dollars cheaper, and regularly run 15-20% off sales on them which makes them a steal!! And they are pretty if you like the blue.
