I got an American Security safe at Turners a few years back, and works great.
Suggestion - Get a safe with an electronic key pad... I got one with the dial, and they suck! Had a locksmith come out and take out the dial, and replace it with key pad...much better!!

I got one about a year ago from Southland Safe Co. I think they go by U.S. Safe Co now or something. They're up in Corona.

Had a P22 delivered and bolted down for under a grand. Check out Cannon's warranty and specs. I did a bunch of research and couldn't find a better deal. I didn't want a cheap safe but didn't need the BMW of safes either.

I just got the Browning Yukon Gold 25 gun safe. Very well built and great looking plus it has a dial for the combo. I don't think I would get anything with a electric style combo. I know two people that have got locked out because those electric locks have shit the bed.

The electronic lock that I know about has a backup key location in case that happens...also it comes with an exterior power connection and the power adaptor for it in case your battery does go bad.

Tough to go wrong with the big-names...Cannon, Browning, Winchester, etc, etc. I think they're kind of like optics in that you get what you pay for. I was more interested in Fire Protection rating than most anything else when I was shopping for mine. I went with a Browning and haven't had a problem. I also have the electric keypad. Keypad pops off to access the batteries if it goes dead. Keyhole is under the keypad so you can't get locked out (assuming you don't ever lose your key).

Keypad also maintains the code even when battery dies. Just pop a new battery in and put your code in.

I bought a Canon from Costco a couple of years ago. The price is great BUT there's a downside to the one I got a least. There are no vertical locking bolts in the door, only 4-5 of them on the side opposite the hinges (none on the top or bottom). I didn't realize that until they delivered the safe. Like everything else, you get what you pay for usually. Good luck...
