I want to keep it simple and drop the stock stingers for a 250lb split ring and a single hook on the bottom for PV cows. Jig will be crimped to 200# mono leader.

What hook would you use... size and brand?

    Thanks!

I did exactly the same on my 200 and 250 gram flat falls. I used a ringed 8/0 super mutu and got both the flexibility I wanted and the circle to prevent the typical swallowing of the jig.

All mine have either a Jobu or forged 7691

With a circle hook are you in danger of missing a hookset if it's eaten on the fall? Have you had success with using a circle on a jig?

    What size Jobu or 7691?

I also use Jobu or 7691.
    7/0 for 160-200g
    8/0 for 250g

    That's how I rig 'em..

A chafing spring might be a good touch. That’s how I did mine Jobu, springs, and crimps

I haven't had any issue with the hook finding home yet, but here is no doubt a trade off here. Though I have not used it, the bridle technique looks like the best of all possible ways to my eyes.
