Left early Thursday morning to catch the first ferry to Kingston. Arrived in sekui around 9am and got ready to launch. Had to wait a bit till the water came up cause of how low it was. Finally launched around 10ish and off we were. Nice and foggy but our radar worked awesome! Decided to stop in the way and try a drift at a new spot. Picked up a few true cod right away then finally a 15lb halibut!

with the west swell and a strong ebb there was some big rollers. Add that with the fog and both my dad and uncle started getting sick. I decided we would take a break and head toward shore for some rockfish and ling. Dinked around for a bit and then the fog cleared and so we headed to the next Hali spot. Fished for a couple Hours and pulled another cod and 1 more Hali. Called it a day but on the way back decided to try for salmon. Managed to put 2 in the boat in an hour. An awesome first day!

Friday we decided to start with salmon as there was a strong ebb most of the morning. Fishing was solid all morning. Managed to put 2 in the boat in a few hours and release a couple blackmouth.

even managed a couple rockfish and a ling while trolling! We stopped around 9 and switched gears to lings and rocks. Went around the corner as it was super nice and we had never been.

Started to head back in and tried some kelp beds for some black rocks. Finally got the right size gear down and it was game on! So much fun on light gear. This might have been my favorite part.

Saturday was our last day, on the way out decided to try a couple drifts for hali before it started ebbing too much. Pulled in a ling and another true cod before it was moving over 3mph. Switched gears to salmon and had a solid bite! Was able to limit out with our 3 kings after a few hours and nice 20lb white king!

tried for Hali one more time around slack but couldn’t get one to take. Had a couple bites that didn’t stick. Finished the day with a few more black rocks and headed for home!

cooked up some fresh cod, Hali and the white king and the true cod was the best! We were getting sick of of catching them while trying for halibut. But after eating them holy moly they are awesome!
