I wasn’t on the boat today but according to the reports they got 18 yellowtail. Sounds like a pretty good day.

Except they had 75 passengers on the boat. Notice I said passengers and not fisherman because that many people can’t possible fish on a boat that size at the same time. It’s unreasonable to sell that many tickets and while I like the boat it makes me reluctant to fish on it in the future. This is why despite living in LA I prefer to dive to San Diego instead of fishing the Catalina boats.

Load capacity is 90 for the Native Son according to the website. 75 is a limited load

Don't be so sure some of our local day boats aren't overcrowded as well.Once you get to a certain amount of passengers what difference does it make if there's a few more.

Fake fish counts and over crowded. Used to love the Native Sun, now it’s a last resort.

If I remember correctly, the Native Sun has a rounded stern, so hey, at least no hogging the corner....

And lacks RSW. I went on the boat and took home hot walked on, stinky mush on a summers day. I should have done catch and release. I had set up a company charter but wouldn’t do it again. Maybe just a bad day in general because some people love the boat, each to their own.

Between dogs and tangles, I bet they hooked 75 fish to land those 18.

The Native Sun is definitely my last resort boat. Overcrowded, the crew will be smoking the whole time and throw their butts into the ocean. Customer service is not great. I would suggest Pierpoint over 22nd street.

True....or chose a boat with RSW and a reasonable passenger to boat length x beam ratio. The sport boats historical targeted species and success rate maybe a consideration as well. Back to the NATIVE SUN!
