launched out of pepper park at 0600, found the weather absolutely beautiful, ran to the bait barge and picked up a half scoop of mediocre dines and headed out. The crossing was easy and quick and upon arrival at the north end of north island we found fish crashing in all directions, Dad popped out a dine and hooked up a big bone almost immediately, I pitched a 5/8 hookup bait on a lighter bass setup and got smoked... had it to color in about 5 minutes and got to see it was the right kind and pretty nice, it promptly realized it wanted to be a hundred yards away and did so quickly. Had it almost back to color and a dog was making a beeline for us so I flipped the bail and let the fish run, when the dog was gone I was able to put the wood to her and boated my biggest of the year! Over the rest of the morning we had steady action on bones cudas and some very chunky calicos in right to the island. Back to the bay by 1130 and off the water by 2, a beautiful day on the water and some great time with my dad

Probably to pay his $52K fine
According to the article, he basically got a slap on the wrist in my eyes. Nowhere near $52k.

John Woodrum (owner of Pursuit & Ultra Sport Fishing) got railroaded for shooting a seal. He did almost a full year (I think that is how long he told me) in state and fined up the ass and back.

I'll never buy a hook bait and for the cost of one of the larger ones, I can get a fat dip of live in my tank. Can't believe how much he is charging. Now if he wants to donate 50% or more of his profits to the DFG and other appropriate organizations I'd consider it.

Make your own. Being a poacher this is probably where he got the idea anyways.
