Went to my super secret lobster hoopin spot and was lucky enough to get there first. Only had two other boats on us by the time we were done setting about 5 PM so that spot is still golden >:(. Got the limit by 9:45 and headed back to Mission. One bug was about 4 Lbs. and most were a little more than just legal. Love the late season. We are getting to know the limitations of the new line hauler and boy did it take a lot of pain out of the evening. Still slips when under a load but you can help it keep going by pushing hard on the "hands free lever". Seeing lots of good sign and it should only get better,,, if you have a secret spot.

Well, that doesn't suck! Nice job.

I'm stumped about the slipping. Maybe your bull dog has a bad tensioner spring...
Couple of trips ago I had a big problem with my Hauler slipping; out of our 10 hoops we have 2 with a different style of rope which is more woven and maybe more strands which would slip occasionally on the wheel. Halfway into the night after we re-baited our cages nearly all of them slipped after the 2nd re-bait set. Even applying tension on the lever wouldn't help and I was pissed having to pull the rope to get traction. The next day I found out my brother put Fish Oil in the bait after the first bait set and it got on my gloves while re-baiting which lubed the ropes while resetting the hoops with the rope going through my gloves. Ditcheed the fish oil and all is fine now, although I still have to apply pressure to the lever on 2 hoops I can live with it.

Have any issues blowing fuses? Using ace hauler, usually if we wrap around some kelp the extra weight causes 30A fuses to pop. Went through like 10 in one night. Was crazy

Are you using 12 or 10 gauge wire and how long is your run?

I blew a 30 amp in-line fuse once on a heavy pull. Installed a 40 amp circuit breaker - which is the haulers rating - and have not popped one since. If it does blow again, just let it cool and flip the switch up. 10 gauge wire.
