Well it's a start !!
Sweet except for that shitty silver thing in the center
looks like a couple buttons like somebody was already in there........to the hell w the blue mountains show me your busssssssch.
Oh yeah, all that rain they are gonna pop.
Been getting them for over a month. Not in big numbers but think first I got was in mid august. Rain will help but I like the early ones when they are dry
Nice and clean
I want to go 'shrooming but I don't know which ones are the safe to eat ones.
Thus I stay out of the woods...
Get yourself a copy of this book by David Arora, it's basically a mushroom Bible and I carry it everywhere !!
That's the best reason to go!
Not yet but I've had the HVAC guys here for 2 days so I'm stuck home for now, hope I'll get out Saturday possibly !!
I remember posts like this around this time every year. Are you the annual "Shroom Hunter" poster? (I'm too lazy to research all shroom posts).
Anyway, nice...I love those things. A little fungus never hurt anyone...uhhh, well I could be wrong.
Any truffles in the state...need I good pig or dog nose to find them. Those are worth some serious $$. Happy hunting.............
Aprils morel harvest. Chantrelles are awesome. Great with scrambles. Gonna go to my mushroom getting spot this weekend. The mushroom book listed above is a great tool for the woods.
I checked my chanterelle spot today and found very few fungi of any kind. Way too dry, hoping this rain gives the kickstart they need!
That's very true Matt, I hunted pretty hard to find the ones I did and it was very easy to tell they were the right ones as like you say very little other shroom activity out there, needs to rain a couple weeks to get everything poppin.
I always try to post up some of the activities I get into as it helps connect with the network out there and get to meet other folks doing the same things weather it be hunting, clam diggin, shroomin or whatever, good to see others out there so to answer your question........I don't know !!
It better get to raining because the first frost should be coming here real soon and if it starts to freeze regularly it'll be too late!! Drats!
If any of you guys need a spot to get chanterelles in the north end pm me. I have an area that over produces and I hate to see them go bad
I've always wanted to go mushroom hunting, always afraid im going to die even after reading those books. Nosecrets - if you ever go out and want some company hit me up.
