    the fish was caught on a xl polu kai instigator, the crew is cleaning up for the day and the full story to come soon but our capt. jonboy kelmer said "when bo got the wire for the first time i could see the bottom". as far as angler info it's a friend of our wiremans wife and will confirm but it might be her first !! gotta love places like madeira 824 # fish that close to the rock!!!!!

    The first thing I noticed, other than the ladies excellent posture, is the vinyl outer skirt on the lure.........very hawaiian-esque.

    Well, Jon boy the skipper used to fish Kona ... but I saw vinyl skirted lures the first year I fished there and that was 2000. Most probably it was the crews from Kona that came over in 1994-1995 that introduced vinyl skirting. It works well for the tubes and big straight runners we often use.

    yes and yes and yep.
    jonboy fished kona, vinyl is the style, the only way to fly when pulling tubes and skinny ones as far as the whole coconut theory yeh but no it's widely used by the guys that know.
