So, i wrote this big @$$ story for all you BD'ers and clicked the wrong button... whoever says beer improves your motor skills must of been a mechanic... Basically, we left Hawaii Kai at 0545, headed for Molokai... 20+knot winds, 10 foot sea state... We hit the banks and ran all the way south... nice going it was... DOWN SEA... We saw plenty of whales and all, not too much birds on the town side of the banks... got to the end, picked up two nice 15lb Kawa Kawa's in the blind on the center rigger along the way... headed out towards P buoy... found it after about an hour of searching... first pass... center takes off... nice 50lb shibi comes up... at gaff, the swells were so damm big, had a hard time keeping the boat straight and thing went under the boat for a run and prop cut off the line.. bumma.. :madfire: That's not the words i used at the time!
Resetup with all 5 of that kind of lure... next pass... all 5 take off... that stays for strong for about 2 hours straight.... between baiting and lures and what not... made a good run at it... come 1500, decided we had to leave the fish to head to safety in Lono Harbor... 38 miles with boat limited to 10 knots into a head sea... my boat was getting pounded... pulled into Lono finally at 2130 in complete darkness... too late for me cousin... not the safest thing to do, but luckily i was there plenty of times before...
all in all, we dropped off 390lbs and 41 pieces at the block today... hope to make a little extra money to pay for the welding of my hardtop repair (any takers?) and replace the seal on my rear steering cylinder... this water is taking a beating on my boat brah... anyway... enjoy the pics.. i did manage to get this uploaded the third time! :hali_ruahahaha:
My new fish box that i built worked great too... holds 7 of da 50lb bags of ice... 12.0 cubic feet of pure Hawaiian gold...
Here's the YouTube link for a sea state look... :rockin:

    Good goin' Scott,

That for sure is a load; I'd a liked to have heard the story. My motor skills are bad enough sober, that's the reason I've gave up drinking a long time ago.

Nice going Scott. I saw some boats getting ready to leave for Molokai earlier in the night and was thinking they were gonna get cracks. You make the fish-box? Cause it looks like its SOLID?

    Aloha,

    Scott,
Way to load em up on them mahis and tunas! Should get pretty good $$$$$ for your catch! If you escorted the canoe race...even more $$$! Nice to have a boat big enough to fish in those waters! To bad about the big shibi, but main thing you were able to catch a bunch of fish!
