This make believe hurricane Hermine has been a real pain in the ass. Actually it is nothing more than a northeaster, except that it is lasting for almost a week. It all started on Saturday when some of the boats had their trips cancelled. “It’s not really a hurricane and besides it’s 500 miles away” didn’t cut it.

All summer the tuna fishing has sucked, and then last week OH BROTHER and the VIKING FIVE STAR had dynamite trips, with lots of yellowfins as well as a couple of bigeyes. But that doesn’t matter now, since after Hermine, everything starts all over again. And, that goes for every other type of fish as well.

The seabass limits went up to eight per person on September 1, and will stay that way until November 1 when they will go to 10.

The Surfmasters striped bass contest starts on September 9 and will run until early December. For information check in with Paulies Tackle shop at www.pauliestackle.com.

The same folks who brought you the Canyon Challenge have another tournament for you canyon guys. The Fall-Fish-Off started September 1 and will run through the month. For more information, go to
