Overall the fishing continues to improve with occasional hicups.

The fluke fishing is as good as it gets unless the conditions are off with too much wind or wind in the wrong direction relative to the tide. All the action is still on the south side, and there are lots of nice fish like the seven pounder caught by five yearold Val Balducci on her very own pink rod as shown below.

Striped bass fishing is getting better with many of the charterboats able to scratch out limits on the half day trips. It was better during the week and then got a little more difficult on the weekend. But there were plenty of bluefish around to keep things busy. Most of the fish are in the 10 -20 pound range but there continue to be some big cows being taken like the 54 pound fish below that was caught on the WINDY during the week.

The porgie fishing over at Cherry Harbor is still the best bet for a bunch of fish.

Paulie's Tackle of Montauk just announced that the Spring Tournament will be held June 19 - 21st.

I spoke to Capt Paul Stern over the weekend who has been monking offshore in mid fifty degree water. He has not been seeing any signs of life except for one lone blueshark. But, I bet somebody will give it a shot next weekend.
