It’s official, fishing season has started. A couple of the charterboats got out over the weekend and anything that is legal to catch can be caught now.


The HERLS GIRL went after stripers Saturday afternoon and caught five of them all legal size up to 25 pounds or so.


The HALFBACK opted for bottom fishing instead and went over to Cherry Harbor for a bunch of porgies.


I spoke to a pinhooker during the week and he has been having no trouble catching his allowable limit of fluke in front of the Radar Stand, but recreational anglers will have to cull through a bunch of shorts in order to bring home dinner when the season opens on Tuesday.
