As a guy with a bit of free time and seeing a potentially high demand for fish processing this year, I'm wondering if a mobile "come to you" fish processing situation would be useful for people when the processors get backed up. I know that mobile butchers used to be a thing and I think they still are in some places. Just brainstorming ideas of how this could work in a practical way and if there would be demand for it. Maybe come to your home with portable tables, tarps, mosquito nets to cover the processing area to keep flies out, vacuum sealer and dry ice to ice them down fast. Take away waste and dispose of everything

Wondering if this is a thing that anyone is doing? Seems like maybe a feasible seasonal small business idea... anglers wouldn't have to drop off and pick up their fish anywhere

There are a few outfits doing it. They pickup your catch at the boat and deliver the filets to your location for a hefty premium.

There's a definite market for it since 50% (or more) of the fishermen are either not interested in dealing with the fish and/or have a lot of disposable income.

You'll also have to look deeper into it because you may run into healthy and safety laws or issues if you're cutting fish in someone's front yard while it's 95 degrees in the dead of summer and the meat goes bad or if you slice off your finger on someone's property.

Health wise it would be prudent to take the fish to a temperature controlled facility and do the cutting and processing there.

good points for sure although in the history of fish processing, it's been done this way for far longer than it has been done in temperature controlled facilities. I guess if they are coming out of a rsw hold there could also be complications because they sometimes would need time to thaw. Just brainstorming ideas I appreciate your feedback.

most of that is right but if the guy sees you have a nice house and knows you own it, he would be smart to slice his finger off, its Ca

Mobil fish cleaning truck would work.
Take a step van (roach coach), add stainless steel tables, Vac Pack machine, waste disposal containers, water tanks, and AC.

Park in the Big Three parking lot and wait for people to come off the boat. But be prepared for Frank to kick you out of the lot.

I would love to see the options out there. I would pay a premium for it. Five Star and Fisherman’s are great but it’s almost like they don't want our business
