Please be advised that they are setting up a check point on the water for the weekend. Be smart and safe. T

My advice is to stay off the water at all costs on amateur weekend (aka 4th of July). It's the OTHER drunks, stoners, meth freaks and generally brain dead boaters you need to watch out for!o_O

They were set up last Saturday as well. Probably getting in some practice before this weekend. They asked a couple quick questions then asked about the fishing. Then again, for how much we fish out of there they know us by name...LOL

Good luck if you go out this weekend and be safe.

I tend to agree with you, and I usually skip both amateur weekends.........but............I've been blinded by Bluefin. :D

.....going to "brave" the armada and get out there..........after the week I've had, I also need a good dose of Fuck-it-ol. :)

    good luck and be safe!

Years ago, My sister was seriously injured by a drunk hit-and-run boater at Avalon.

It's a motor vehicle. Treat it like one and have a happy 4th!

Never seen a boat checkpoint. How is that even done?

With how bad most sober boaters are, I could see this getting pretty dangerous if the officers are funneling boats through a narrow and asking them to tie up?

Or is it just a patrol boat docking to random boats?

They were really cool last year, they pulled up and asked a couple questions, no beer or anything around so it was quick. Amazed I took my skiff to cat from mdr and did it sober! Be safe out there this weekend guys it should be interesting.
