Just curious what you guys think of matte/satin finish on a jigstick blank. I'm refinishing a black Calstar 530. Got it all sanded to 800 grit. I wiped a coat of CPX on it. It got a little splotchy. Let it dry and rubbed it down with #000 steel wool and wiped another coat on and rubbed that out to a satin finish. I know it's a purely cosmetic thing....also, am I removing any of the CPX by rubbing it out with 000 steel wool? Thanks

I doubt it would remove much. Just don't rub it too hard. A genie might pop out of the bottle. ;) And then again,it goes on super thin.
I have a NFC Silverback jigstick blank. I was tempted to do the same and decided against it. It wouldn't really add any weight to speak of, or affect the action. So...not on this one. If I were redoing one of my older Sabres, maybe. Mine are all still in really good shape.
