Good going on the Marlin (you guys need to get a bigger gaff), the water was beautiful. In response to the comment about killing Marlin I will say that they are good to eat, and the Southern California guys kill alot of Albacore for the same reason! Marlin are fish too.

    Andy,
Not much to report (at least behind the Kai'Nana) since 4/5/14, broke a decent marlin off and then was fortunate (I do mean that, glad I was there to help, don't want to sound cynical) to be able to tow someone back to Ko'Olina on 4/12 and then went bolos on a quick Easter morning run. Keeping an eye on this next lunar phase.

    Cheers
    Pat

Nice marlin Andy, and nice to watch a video, even if it isn't us in it-hah-hah. Don't worry Pat anyone who knows you would never think that you're being cynical about"being fortunate to be able help somebody in distress".

    Ted,
Sorry Andy for the hijack; during either moon full or dark, the tides are obviously bigger, it has been my experience that during those cycles, the bite is typically better. The fish have to be around for that to happen though. Up until the last couple years I was a huge fan of the dark moon and the ahi bite, but the last couple of summers, the full was good as well. Some of my best marlin days were either right on or before the full. My approach is put more focus to get on the water during these times.
I also need something to amp me up so I use the moon to help.

    Cheers
    Pat
