If sportfiishing is a Sport, then why would you smoke pot or drink while doing it?

I don't know anyone that trains for "sportfishing", nor have I seen any organized Little League sportfishing teams or Sportfishing moms in minivans full of young anglers in training or a Dan Hernandez junior football program. But I have seen a lot of anglers who couldn't walk at a brisk pace from bow to stern on a 65 ft sportboat without wheezing from lack of breath.

    More like a recreational activity.

You haven't fished marlin tournaments then. You're experience suggests Joe Blow party boat fishing.

Also in Ca, if you have a marijuana card you can no longer legally purchase a firearm,
the new questions on the back ground check asks if you have a card, and you better not lie...

I'm not saying there aren't professional anglers out there, both salt and freshwater. What I am saying is most anglers are closer to being recreational bowlers not professional ones. A few years ago I pulled 5 YT's over 25 lbs. off the 150 spot in less than an hour and my ass was kicked, but did I go home and train for the next outing? No, I took some Aleve with some Bulleit on the rocks.

This is why you should never get the card, which is usually issued by a County agency and costs extra, just carry your recommendation from the "doctor". Use semantics to your advantage.

And you better not lie? I'm thinking 90+ percent of those who get caught with alcohol or pot lie when being interrogated. What makes you think they wouldn't do it when applying for a fire arm? Unfortunately, we don't live in that world anymore bro, anything goes.

I got boarded and they found an 1/8, made me dump it out in the water. This was 3 or 4 years ago so not legal recreationally yet and I did not have a card. They also made me go back in and buy new life vests because a few had some threads coming out.
