I have a pair of Garmin 942xs that are networked via the black box.

I fished about 50 miles of San Diego the other day, well into Mexican waters, when both Garnins just stopped map continuity past Rosarito (say 35 - 40 miles south of San Diego). There was a horizontal line that shows the interruption, then just a flat color south of it.

I was still able to input waypoints and they showed up on screen, but no more of the familiar depth contours and no preloaded waypoints and navigational spots I'm used to seeing.

I believe both units came with the Bluechart G3 maps.

Does this mean I have to purchase a Mexico specific map Update and install it? If so, can I run two map updates at the same time? Meaning, I obviously don't want to lose what I currently have for US waters but of course want coverage when in Mexico.

    Thanks for any advice.

I’m curious as I have the same unit. I know on Active Captain I lose the contours south of the 302.
