Caught them up until 2 weeks ago in the SMB. I don't think they have even left the SMB yet with all the bonito around and 65.8 deg water.

Terrafin out of Oceanside shows 67.8 deg water 8.7 miles straight out of Oceanside, good place to start.

We have been seeing a lot of pups. Any general suggestions to find the bigger ones? Is it just luck of the draw that we have seen so many pups?

Wrong time of year for the bigger fish IMO. Momma won't be around until May next year for the most part. Should still be some of that 150-200 around perfect BBQ or freezer filler to hold one over until next season. We released a solid 125 lb fish a few weeks ago along with a bunch of pups to 60.

I would say figure out where the bonito and skipjack are and work those areas. Follow the feed so to speak. Unless you like mercury, ddt, pcb's and a few other things I would not reccomend eating one over 300 lbs.
