Headed out of Ft Mcallister at 0300 on Sat and punched in the numbers for the spot 87 miles east in the Gulf Stream. Water was pretty calm on the way out ran 30 kts. On the way stopped at a navy tower for bait but no luck, did get a couple of 35lb AJ's on jigs. Pushed on to the stream. Once there scored a dink Mahi in a couple of minutes, but was slow going. Found a weedline that 20 other boats were working but only picked up one more. Pushed out deeper for a blind double and a free jumping marlin. Headed back to the weed line around 1300... it was dead no boats. So we made a pass got 1 more. A little further we spotted some jumpers so we casted topwaters to them will chunking. It was wide open for like 2 hours. we released numerous small fish, lost a few but wound up with 2 gaffers and 24 slinger Mahi....Ran back at 35 kts back at the dock drinking beer and cleaning fish by 1800. I have never seen an ocean so flat....Amazing it was almost erie at times...

    Noel,

Fish slayer dude... Looks like an action packed day. Way to get after the mahis! All we've been doin' is pulling hooks and breaking screamers off. Need to shed this monkey soon.

AHI or Marlin? I'm sure you will get some nice ones soon. My next trip I'm going to try for kings.... would like to start fishing some SKA tourneys next year maybe.

I hope the mahi stay tight till then, it is heating up and they will spread out. The Kings should be red hot though... Going to test a technique out this weekend....As far as Pats huhu did I leave something on his boat? Cause I'm having good luck here....
