Hi i was thinking of making the trip down to Mag Bay and wanted to get any information on lodging and people or outfits to fish with. any information would be greatly appreciated

Sergio Garcia is good, but doesn't speak much english. Captainsergio.com He is in Lopez Mateos, same as Bob. 2-3 decent motels in town. Can get you a name if serious.

That’s right in the middle of hurricane season. Late oct or early Nov is usually better. And Ruben is the man.

Fat Rat here are some photos of the hotel here in Lopez.
We have our own boats and also work with many local captians
Rooms are American Style wifi a/c hot water fishin cleaning and
vacuum bagging and a spa to relax after a hard day of fishing.
There is also a vhf radio in the hotel to keep in touch with the
boats. Rooms start at $25 we have a full kitchen and can
cook your catch or prepair other great meals at reasonable cost
