Lost a tanker fish but gained a Long Beach Lingcod 6/9/19

Headed over Sunday Morning in slick glass sea to the back side of Catalina. The Kid wanted to try for YT or W. Seabass. We pull up on a area i like and within Minutes The Kid gets his wish of a Tanker fish... Unfortunately after about a 5 minute battle the Line Pops and comes back looking like it was cut off.. 20190610_051815_221095407350588.mp4
... Now My kid Logan has that same memory most of us have of "The One That Got Away". Bite slowed down to just Calico and we decided to run back to Long Beach and pick up a Lingcod or 2. After several Vermilion 2lbs or bigger

, Logan who knows how to bait up for Lingcod Hooks one that ends up being his personal best 32" Long Beach Ling..

... Well at least the kid can get that lost fish feeling out of his mind .... called it a day at 1:30 and proceeded to go fight the Summer crowd at the Launch ramp..

That Kid wears his Bibs every trip no matter what air temp or Boat he is on... I do not know how he doesn't just overheat in that crap...

final count:
Many Calico Bass
Ling Cod
several Reds
1 sheephead
1 HeartBreak fish

Water was glass
air temp was about 66 degrees
Sunny
Sardines and Mackeral for Bait
i saw water temp of about 63Degreee
fished from 40ft all the way to 210 ft...........

They make breathable bibs that are more suited for warm weather but still sturdy enough.

Nicely done.
I have those same bibs and they kept me toasty during last winter fishing for lobsters. Your son must have ice packs wrapped around him to wear those and a sweater in the sun.

i bought them for him for Lobstering and he has just continued to use them, hes been wearing bibs since he was 5yr old
i tell him to not even get near me after a day of fishing until he showers................... Its got to be gross!!!! lol
