I am heading there also next week Aug 2-5, fishing 3rd and 4th with "Doobie" , if you are fishing different days I could hook you up with him, or if not get him to recommend.

A few years back we used the Baja fish company. Local panga guys catered to anything you want fly or fishing conventional. Fish all day or do combo snorkel bbq on white sand beaches. Oh man I need to get back there,

Yellowtail live around Loreto all year long, but during the hot summer months are not as easy to target. It is more practical to ask the pangero "What is biting best?" and go fish for that. At this time of year it is usually going to be dorado or yellowfin. But if your heart is set on a yellowtail, be prepared to use dropper loops because they will be on the deeper banks. In the rocks.

I highly recommend "Pancho" Alvarez Romero. He will get you into fish with a lot of laughs and smiles. Great guy! contact him at [email protected]
Tell him Randy recommended him. You will not be dissapointed. Speaks very good english.

There is no better or harder working panguero working out of Loreto than Pancho. His is always one of the first boats out and the last returning at the end of the day, and if anybody catches fish it will probably be Pancho.
