    Hello BDer's
Ive got a conference next week at the San Diego convention center and will be staying at a hotel near by from this Saturday till next Thursday. My afternoons and evenings are pretty free and I really don't want to spend all that time in the hotel room. Could someone point me in a direction of some decent beaches for maybe some surf fishing in the early morning hrs and afternoons. I planned on bringing a couple of rods down or maybe even the scuba gear but have no idea where to go. Normally when I'm down that way I'm with our boat, I'm a little land locked for this trip and don't know any of the beaches worth fishing.
If you don't want your spot going public please send me a PM, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks

    Jeff K

I’m down there for work next week also, been every other week for a few months now. I’ve been hitting up Shelter Island pier for some decent action on bass, halibut (shorts), rays and mackeral! I should be there next week Wednesday and Thursday evenings from around 3-5.

torrey pines is great for surf fishing right now. tons of sandcrabs to use as bait. use a carolina rig with a 3/4oz weight and small hook. those artificial bloodworms in camo color work well for me. also you can fish the bays from the shore. for mission bay, fish at sunset point. for san diego bay, fish harbor island. for both, use cut squid on a carolina, or a 3" soft plastic on a 3/8oz jighead. if youd like a fishing buddy to show you the ropes feel free to message me. I fish the bays and beaches a few times a week.
