I'm looking for a Good 40-50 lb Spinning Rod and Reel for my son. I would like the rod to be 7' Minimum and the reel to hold At Least 300yds of 65lb Spectra. OR what would someone recommend that uses Spinning Rods/Reels?

As always depends on budget. These things go from 150-1200. My rec. is always a Saragosa. Great price at $300, bullet proof, 8 or 10k holds plenty of line.

    Hi Kevina

Unfortunately I can't sell you my 40lb. spinning outfit but I'll tell you that it's a Saragossa 10k with a little less than 300 yds. of 65 lb. braid paired with a black 7'2", Terez mh spinning rod (40-80 lb. braid rating, TC4 construction). Like Donnie, I recommend the Saragossa 10k. As for the rod, it's about $250 w/o tax but I think Shimano has upgraded the Terez rod from a "TC4" construction to a "Spiral X" construction. I'm not sure what the difference is but I think the latter is now a bit more expensive. Let me know if you have any more questions...Lance
