I just asked a simple question. I didn’t slant the question or try to influence anyone. Stop being so defensive. It’s a legitimate question based on the circumstances.
Question: Do you have a problem making up your mind?
Answer: Well, yes and no......
Where is the 3rd and 4th checboxes? 1 for I don't know, and 1 for I don't care.
then you have to add the All of the above checkbox also.

Came here to read about LR shutdown and learned that Jackie did not mind that John‘s knob was polished daily... as long as he remains president.

Since you guys have nothing better to do... you could probably benefit from this video
That is some funny shit. Thank you

The long range fleet is shut down and has been that way for awhile. All San Diego landings are closed. RP last one to get out. Website says until end of March but that’s not true. At a minimum it’s until the governor lifts the stay at home ban. At best that is the end of April. Likely longer

I was on a 16 day leaving mid April and only yesterday did I get an official cancellation email. However it was pretty obvious long ago we were not going to go. The boat was great about refunds etc

If any of the boat owners read this thread I would suggest them to be more open and transparent. Actually come Up with a written policy regarding prevention and cancellations after the stay at home order is lifted etc

They are scared about losing revenue and cancellations when this is lifted. However at least half of their customers are over the age of 60. This problem problem does not go away immediately after the stay at home order is lifted

Should a 75 year old passenger lose all their money if they refuse to get on a boat within a month or so of order being lifted? How about the worrying of the old guys family? Crew might not say it but they will be nervous for awhile

The boat owners should really step up and have a plan for how to deal with this and most importantly let their customers know what a fair cancellation plan is for everyone involved. Have this plan now versus later so we can plan also.

Just because this stay at home order eventually gets lifted it still will not be safe immediately afterwards and that needs to be addressed

Hopefully One Day
Here is an idea. Get 30 passengers, test and then still quarantine them for two weeks. once they are past two weeks, get them on boat and go offshore. Treat this as mobile sterile unit and charge for it like $10K/month. There are people who can and would pay for it. People get to fish for a long time and stay away from virus. Food is no problem since there is so much fish around. Fleet stays in business. Win win

Now for the variables ......how about the people who come on board after every trip to change sheets and bedding..all the food supplies are they clean and tested..and how about crew are they tested and quarantined before the trip..the list goes on and on.....there are no guarantees with this IMO.

Trump just extended the nationwide social distancing rules to April 30th officially. There is no way CA is going to end any of their shutdowns before then now IMO. No Fishing till May at the earliest as of right now it looks like.

In my dreams!
Abbott Labs. has just had a rapid test approved for release by the FDA. Fifteen minutes tops for a decision as to whether a person is positive or negative. This would allow everyone on a trip to be tested prior to sailing, as well as crew, clean-up crews between trips, etc. Nothing is ever 100%, but this would be getting close to that target.

I'd probably roll the dice on that one

Add yet you may not test positive or show symptoms for up to 14 days after contact with someone who has the virus.

Plan on 2020 catch numbers to be extremely low but on the bright side 2021 will hopefully be AMAZING!!!
