launched out of Davies to beautiful seas. Nice and flat, very little to no wind at all. Shot straight out 10 miles to the 150 to a few other boaters. Double dropper loop with frozen squid yielded us limits by 1030. By now it’s a parking lot and everyone and their baby mamas are catching fish. Question: is bocaccio apart of the rockfish limit? We caught a few and added it to our rockfish limit just to be safe but would like a definitive answer. Didn’t get any sculpin, majority of the fish we caught were 1-1.5# red with occasional chucklehead and chili pepper. Bocaccios came on jigs...after our limit we went to izors for jighead and squid for bass but didn’t hook any. Short bites that was about it. Off the water by noon...

Yes bocaccio is part of the 10 rockfish limit. Bocaccio is a type of rockfish and is part of the RCG complex. They used to have a separate limit but now its limited to 10 fish as part of the rockfish group. With whitefish, you can keep 10 fish and it is not considered as a rockfish other than the same closure dates as the RCG complex.

If you bleed the bocaccio, it would taste a lot better. You leave that blood in it, it will stink up the other fish when you clean it.
