    UPDATE:

    Finally received a callback from the Warden who said he would confirm it was OK to keep bugs in a receiver until ready for consumption; yes it is legal until 10 days after the season closes when they must be eaten, frozen, or released. He quoted section 2000 something out of the regulations but it doesn't really matter as I will take his word for it and I appreciated him following up with a phone call. He didn't ask where the receiver was kept or how many were left; he just told me to get rid of them one way or another. I told him I would get down to SWYC and have my friend take them home ASAP. Such a shame as now we'll have to pull the receiver out and clean it every couple of months since we can't have our auto cleaner anymore when we need it the most.
