Normally we don’t go on opening day due to the circus but We had such an itch to go why not. We left around 5pm inside the Long Beach area only to find every spot was claimed. Didn’t want a lobster war and the water was so flat calm we decided to head over to the Izor area were we marked some nice rocks over the summer. We were dropping our nets while the blood moon was rising. Not another boat in sight. What a beautiful night. Long story short we did only two set and got our limits. The down size, we did lose 3 net to the bottom. OUCH! But the quality jumbos made up for it. On a side note, one net had over 20 rock crabs which is a first for us.
