Stayed up late last night checking the weather reports to see if it was going to be fish able anywhere today. Original plan was to hit the Vine and troll today but the wind and rain threw the night killed any chance of that so I decided to hit LNL as it can handle the rain and wind better. Weather reports showed the wind wasn't going to be to bad and the dopler showed scattered showers clearing after noon time. That sounded doable so at 5am I headed to the lake. Got there a little after 6am and there was hardly anyone there. Sweet!! got my rental and headed to the spot under light showers and light winds
    [IMG]
went straight to the same spot I got a just under 10# last week and dropped the concrete block. Three casts into the day and I was hooked up on the yellow/white minijig
    [IMG]
    nice fish
    [IMG]
This pic lets you now how well they where hitting the minijigs
    [IMG]
after about a 8or 9 fish I started pitching a Owner Mira shad in flame and about 20 casts later ZZZZZZZZZZ and a nice swirl of water on the hook set. Nice little battle later and a 10# class bow is on the deck
    [IMG]
look how far down he took the lure down
    [IMG]
Man they where chewing!! heres a few action shots and some of the 25 fish I caught today (20 released)

This is what it looked like at 3pm as I headed to the dock

    Days limit
    [IMG]
and the big'n ended up at 9.8lbs just like the one last week
    [IMG]

Fish where caught on a Phenix Elixir FX902 9' 2-8lb rod a Shimano Sedona 1500 loaded with 4lb clear Andy. No fluro leaders. Yellow/white minijig was hot early in the morning, Mira Shad in flame caught a few but they where bigger fish and after lunch the instant bite combo was a #6 red owner mosquito hook with a small white marsh mellow put on top of the eye of the hook then a bright orange power worm threded on under it and a dash of garlic scent. Looked like this.

If it wasn't bit in 10 min then check your bait as you got picked by a fish all ready. Lots of shore caught fish as well.

    Good luck,
    B

Thanks guys. Got lucky with the weather forsure.

Doug, the double hookup shot didn't come out. My coke bottle camera float blocked out the lense :( was still killer though.

    Sorry Brandon ;) :)

Marlyn, no none of my Phenix rods (salt or fresh) are factory rods, I wrap them all myself.

JUST A HEADS UP : with the current weather / rain the shoreline @ LNL will

    be EXTREMELY SLIPPERY ,

do yourselves a favor & pack the deck boots or rent a boat / bring the tube so you dont ruin a pair of tennis shoes or wind up on your ass

    thread jack complete

    carry on

As always, very nice report and photos. The yellow and white mini jig you're talking about, is that a yellow mini with a white power worm? Thanks B!
