Took out friends of mine who have never fished the ocean before. Brought out all spinning gear for them to use and as always, the Stella's performed flawless. Fished coronado islands and found some wide open schools. Ended up with limits of yellowtail for 3. Ranging from 6-23lbs. They are hooked. Love putting friends on new experiences. Got a bunch of calicos, bonitos, cuda as well.

Literally caught yellowtail at every spot we fished. Pukey, middle ground, south kelp, 5 minute kelp and keyhole. All fish caught on sardines and didn't get any on iron. We had maybe 3-4 in the 20's, most in the 7-12 lb range, 1-2 in the 5lb-6lb range. I fished mainly 25lb but bait was very small. Good luck out there.

Awesome trip! Can you damage any motor cables by putting your kill bag on the Armstrong bracket?

Im not quite sure, but i do have the kicker motor bracket that holds most the pressure of the oil bag.

hope nothing goes wrong with the cable. Im going in for my 2nd 200 hour service this year, so ill have Mauer marine check them out!

    Sorry, a couple more questions:
    1. Any sliding sinker on the sardines? Or all just straight fly line?
    2. Did you chum a lot of 'chunk' dead bait or was all chumming live bait?
    3. Any dropper loop fish?

A great day for your friends, but you must realize that you've absolutely ruined them for taking trout and bass seriously!
