I was at the Secret spot , Upper Hidden Friday morning . Could not buy a bite on my 80 pound . The 30 went out . 20 minute soak and then screaming drag . Getting spooled so I used a rag to add a little more . Stopped him just short of pling . He charged the boat and I took half back . After giving chase the fish was at color and my little Kencore broke in two . Had to kill this fish . Not my first one this size but pretty stoked .Taped at 96 #

    Ha, Kencore...

My ex-wife used to work for that company, they also made racquetball rackets (Pro Kennex) way back in the day - straight crap (my ex-wife I mean :))

    Nice fish!

I think you meant Kunnan and not Kencore. I believe Kenny only made rods, and Kunnan made fishing rods, tennis racquets, golf clubs etc.

To the OP, thanks for the awesome report, and condolences on the vintage Kencore. If my rod had a choice of how it would meet its demise, that would be it. Congrats 👍
