Life jacket and radio recommendations?

Hi I have a hobie outback with the vantage seat, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a comfortable life jacket? Was also wondering what vhf radio I should get, Thankyou.

I use this one is light but carful with the cord that activate the gas is easy to make it go off

You’ll get a bunch of recommendations for the most comfortable kayak jacket. I tried on the “most popular and well liked jackets” that I could find reviews for online and none of them felt that comfortable for me.

Suggest you go to REI or a local kayak store and try as many on before buying.

I ended up buying a MTI Reflex from REI. Very comfortable and it wasn’t as expensive as a lot of other kayak life jackets. I’ve had it for about 10 years and it’s still in great shape. Always rinsed thoroughly after each salt trip of course.

We have a backup vhf (Standard Horizon HX890BK) which has been great. It is easy to use, battery charge lasts all day and is clear in communication. It also has gps coordinates on the screen which help give peace of mind if everything else fails.

I have a West Marine vhf 75 radio as a backup that works fine.

I have the onyx 24 AM and very pleased with it. Looks the same just the name is difference.
