    Liberty Island Fun

Fished on the Liberty with 39 of my new friends. We started the morning by North island and found a school of Yellowtail that came up for a minute and I hooked one which started off my morning good. I used the Salas 6x and after about 20 cranks off the bottom I was bit. These Yellows were mean and put up a hell of a fight however I found that low gear was too much for it. Wash, repeat and then I hang another Yellow about same size, both were 20 pounds or so. Unfortunately, I spent the rest of the day working my ass off trying to get a bite and nothing. The boat ended up with 70 total. The Liberty is a really nice boat and the deckhands were cool dudes. Go fishing and have a good time!

Very Nice! Don't want to be THAT GUY, but 20? I think that everyone (myself included) thinks yellows are always so much bigger than they really are...Maybe because of how hard they fight? Looks like the 8-12's and 12-15's are biting. Just my opinion.

Well I’m 280 lbs and 6.1 and had a hard time lifting it with one hand. I guess I’m just weak.

No worries...Nice fish! Being 280 pounds explains why the fish looks smaller. Thanks for the clarification.
