Tough day on the water as most of the fleet stayed closer in to get on the limit style yft. Captain Taro did his best went out to the same zone they have been fishing. Full load 50 anglers. Fish count 4 yft, 16 bft. I ended up with 3 nice 40lb model bft's. The crew on the Liberty is top notch! Nothing but good things to say. I will be back.

What pound line will the bluefin bite on? Is it still 20lb like the yellowfin or can you bump to 30 or 40?

My favorite full day boat and normally the only one I care to fish in SD! Taro and Anibal go hard to put people on fish. Ryan Catabona, Taylor and young buck, Maher are solid deckhands that get it when it comes to customer service, hot bite or not. Nice hit on some solid BFT there, buddy. See you on board and at the rail! :)

Nice, glad to see a good review on a full day sportfishing boat, that's just awesome with that many people on board and the fish report being a little low but still great. Says a lot about the crew, captain and operation.

    3 nice fish right there!

Out of curiosity, I want to get my son on his first tuna this summer. Probably go in about two weeks. I can only go on weekends right now, and the Liberty is the only boat out there that appears to have open spots on weekends. Looks like it's about $20 more expensive than the rest, but would that be a good one to jump on, especially if for a 13 year old who's never got a tuna?

Yes go on the Liberty. The deckhands will get your son hooked up and then you have to deal with the addiction from there lol!

I got a 42# BFT on 20# fluro Monday, but I would start with 25 and move down. Size 2 mutu light circles worked for the YFT, but some broke/straightened out. I wish I could have used my usual Owner 2/0 Gorillas! I tried flyliners but did not get bit.

Been using the newer Owner Mutu Hybrid lately with good success. It's between the light and gorilla. Haven't broke or straightened one yet.
