Well, we got all the engine swaps done today - the 90 yammy came off the Bottom Line and went on a stand - the 75 Merc came off the T-Top invader and went on the Bottom Line and the new 90 Etec went on the T-Top boat. It was a really long day and my back is freakin' killing me!

Where the heck is Baja Tex and crew that bought my Invader for a complete makeover...I am curious as to how she turned out....I miss that boat. Due to disabilities I am glad I sold this Invader that I would never have been able to fix, sounded like they were doing everything needed to be a top notch sportfisher.

OK I know this is an old thread, but I am looking for Invader info and this is about the best thing on the web.

Looking at a 94, looks like a 183, but the seller has is just listed as 17'. But it has a Suzuki 140 2 stroke, which is what makes me think 183.

Decent boats it sounds like, I'm not a big fisher, just a go have fun on the lake guy. How is the cruise and WOT speed? Its a good sized lake and gets some big chop, makes my 13'er a bit rough. Looks to be in ok shape, but he says the bracket for the mid ship bilge pump is broken, and the rear one's float switch is broken. The rear "dry dock cover" also needs to be replaced. Height of the season, what's a decent price?

I had a 1993 183 Reefrunner. If you look at the title, I believe it is listed as 17'4". I had a 115 HP Johnson Ficht motor oil injected 2 stroke. Awesome and fuel efficient motor. I recall cruising speed of approx. 25 mph and WOT approx. 40 mph depending upon water condition. I rarely ran it past 30 mph. The boat is really light. The earlier models seem to have fuel leak problems. Mine did not. I picked mine up approx. 5-6 years ago and paid $3750. Upon purchase, I spent another $1500 on misc motor repairs. Decent price depends upon parts of the country, condition and how badly the seller wants to sell it. I no longer own the boat. Wish I had the room and money for 2 boats. Good luck.

Katmandu, did you ever move the batteries to the console? Did that help balance out the boat better? I have a 87 Proline 20 and it has the same issue, I was thinking of moving the first battery to under the console with the second to help balance it out.

Thank Katmandu. Hes asking 5k, and it needs a bit of work, but boat prices in WA are crazy.

Spence: Never got around to moving the batteries. Traded my Invader before I got around to doing it. The other option I was playing with was installing trim tabs. The trim tabs would have helped with the listing and getting my boat on plane alot quicker.

Thanks for the update. I'm going to try moving the battery. Problem is I'm planning on mounting a kicker on the same side as the battery and oil tank so all the weight is on the same side. Going to move the second battery under the console with the first and put them both on the left side of the console to help with balance

Hello all - I just bought my first boat: 1992 Invader 183 Fisherman. It's in great shape, and I just need to replace a few cushions side storage panels. Does anyone know where to get replacement parts for these old boats? I have no idea where to look. I am including a photo of these items I am looking for.

Hi Guys,

I'm going to see a nice looking 20' Invader next week. (nice looking from the photos). It looks like some of you take yours out in heavier waters. Are the decks 'self bailing'? I'm considering this for the Pacific Northwest.

Hey Rachel, That's a great hull for So Cal fishing. Nice first boat. How about some more pics and details?

You can find the side rod storage for $350/pair at:
http://ssicustomplastics.com/products/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_74&product_id=195

If you meant the side hatches in the console, take measurements and look online at west marine and amazon.

Lots of upholsery places, fishbones didn't give you much cotact info.

BD members are often willing to help. What city/area are you located?
You might try to start your own post, this one's kinda stale

Just found this thread after owning one for about a year now.

Anybody else still using their Invaders beside my friend and I?
Have a completely re-done Invader as one of my two rigs. Great boats. Bottom Line (RIP) mentions it in his posts as his other boat for BOLA. I purchased it from him and rebuilt it.

I had Berry's build a 72 gallon tank that I mounted right in the middle of the hull.

Nice. I was curious because the guy I bought my 94' 183 from has the removable deck at the helm and at the seat with a battery compartment where they installed a 63 gal tank. When I finally ditch the old Merc 115 2-stroke I may have to go with a 4 stroke 70 to stop from being ass heavy when I add a bait tank too

I moved the batteries to under the casting deck to move weight forward and then put a 150 on it with trim tabs. Removed the heavy seat deal. Replaced with a leaning post and then put part of the bait tank under the seat to maximize space and keep weight towards center. Boat screams, balances and rides really well.
