Leopard sharks on an SUP

    My sons and I took the Surly Mermaid over to Catalina for a few days this week. The boys got bored, and decided to try and catch leopard sharks on our Stand Up Paddle board. Why? Because they can, and I don't think anyone has before for obvious reasons. But when you're 15, it seems like a really good idea. We used circle hooks and all leopard sharks were released unharmed. Anyway, the boys had fun! We also caught a nice legal halibut off the mooring that ended up as fish tacos.
