Full moon and pretty clear throughout the night. Most likely explains the lack of hunger for my offerings today.
Wind forecast was favorable. Beautify calm.
    Warm temperature 73-75.
Clear, slightly green water in most areas.
Bait was not at the Point. Moved south and had a pick at a few. Spanish and Pacific Macks.

Pulled the plug on going south to the less fished areas. On the way down, saw birds working in front of SC Pier. Shit load of perfect size Pacific Macks, so I collected more. (Oh, someone mentioned a guy catching 2 TY at once. One fish swallowed the bait then out the gill to hook another. I caught three Macks through the mouth and out the gill, all swallowed the sinker. No Lie)

Between the Domes and Barn Kelp I slow trolled Macks on the outside of the fringe for a couple of hours. Not a hit. Parked in the weeds and lobbed Macks as well in few spots. No takers.

I also captured a big balloon as a bonus.

Before coming in at 12:30, caught a Checkerboard for some tacos. Time to eat.

    Awesome day on the pond!

    Quick video.

Thanks. Your videos show the small boat spirit. I love being on my skiff and feeling so close to everything. Anytime I get on a 25+ foot boat my focus shifts from the ocean to the big ass boat.

Honestly, at first i was a little bummed there wasnt your normal off-the-radar 70’s punk playing in the background, but once i settled into the sound of the (is that a 3 stroke?) motor, all seemed right! Great vid.

Love the reports from the future. lol

I was thinking of something clever to say and all I could come up with is...

    Bass to the Future. :frehya2:

I make fun, but have done that more than I'd like to admit. I hate it when I typo the thread title because I havent figured out how to edit the title yet.

Thanks for the report and the vid. Cool about those YT and macs eating the same bait/ sabiki too.

Thanks! The skiff keeps me hopping around like a spider monkey. It was great when I was young, now I'm off the water at noon because of fatigue. Still fits in the garage and cost me nothing.

Thanks. The punk rock and questionable music ain't going away. This was just a snapshot of the beautiful conditions. it's a old 2 stroke.

I knew Kinison would appreciate my French. Is it your birthday soon? "Happy Fucking Birthday my friend".

There's a way to edit title? Yep I feel like a dumb ass and your always going to remind me, lol.

Cool skiff. I think your in the beginning of the clip?
So tell me about the YT you caught?

I headed out 29th too out of Dan(no fish) Point but for afternoon bite after 1pm . Only few larger size Macs at point so returned and grabbed 1/2 scope mixed anchovies and sardines and headed to 14 mile Bank. Was a waste land two weeks ago and remains so now . Hit 4 kelps with all three bait, types iron and even tried floating my turkey and beef sandwich by them . Nada . On way in saw schools of dolphin chasing something , moving really fast and hundreds of birds just off the point at 5 pm. Sounds like nothing much in between Catalina or all way down to Oceanside unless you want Calicos and occasional short white sea bass from what Im reading . Guy at dock said he had two 180 Lb bluefin but ran to far side of SC to get them Saturday night on flat fall in dark
